“NHA’s Most Worthwhile Endeavor.”
All applications must be submitted online through this website no later than 31 January. If you applied during 2014-2015 cycle, you will be able to update your existing application. Letters of Recommendation can now be uploaded after completing the application. But official transcripts must still be mailed directly to the National Office and received not later than the above due date. Active duty applicants must include a Letter of Recommendation from their Commanding Officer.
Complete applications packages, including transcripts and letters of recommendation, will be made available online to the appropriate Regions for review. The Regional Scholarship Chairperson should form a committee to select a 'most deserving' nominee and rank runner-up candidates. Using a numeric ranking system, each member should score the applicants. Total scores will determine the winner. The selection process will be identical for the Graduate Scholarship, any additional scholarships (as they become available), and will be selected by the National Scholarship Selection Committee.
The Regional Scholarship Chairperson will send a record of the final rankings of the candidates to the NHA National Office no later than 31 March.
The Vice President of Scholarships will compile all Regional results and form a National Scholarship Selection Committee to make final selections. If a Region’s top ranked candidate is selected for a corporate sponsored award, their runner-up will receive the Regions Award. If Regions have more than one Graduate application, they should be ranked accordingly. Graduate scholarship recipients will be selected by the NHA National Scholarship Committee. Final determination and notification of all winners will be completed by the National Scholarship Selection Committee. Winners will be notified no later than two weeks prior to the annual NHA Symposium.
